The 21st of November 2018, remains a special day in the life of the Centre for Human Rights and Peace Advocacy (CHRAPA). It was a warm and memorable day because the United Nations Office in Geneva-Switzerland, appreciated and honoured the work we have been doing in the promotion and protection of human rights in Cameroon and in some of the countries we work in by donating a vehicle and IT equipment to CHRAPA to facilitate our work.
While human rights violations continue unabated in Cameroon, specially violations in the Anglophone regions committed both by the Cameroon Army and the armed Ambazonians fighters by rampantly killing of civilians, burning down of villages , arbitrary arrest and detention incommunicado by the soldiers, and killing of soldiers, kidnap of some state authorities and individuals by armed Ambazonians, CHRAPA continues to denounce such atrocious acts by putting these violations on the table of the UN and international community. It is this work that the United Nations in Geneva has seen and appreciated it where, through its Executive Director, Chongsi Ayeah Joseph, has constantly been present at the UN Human Rights Council Sessions and other treaty bodies such as the Committee Against Torture, the Committee on the Convention on the Rights of the Child, Committee on Racial Discrimination etc.
We are very grateful for such recognition and immensely thank the UN for it constant support and encouragements.
