Goal
Our institutional goal is to promote sustainable development by pressing forward for greater respect of human rights and peace which are vital ingredients for good governance and hence development. To achieve these goals our work centers mostly on promoting the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) SDG 1, SDG 5, SDG 10 and 16 and other cross-cutting Goals by working in collaboration with communities, grassroots institutions and organizations both at the national and international level.
Objectives:
Our Values
We value truth, freedom, justice, human rights, the rule of law and collective effort for the common good. We act with integrity, propriety, and political impartiality as we struggle to put the public’s interest first. In doing this, we value professionalism in all we do. We value the people we work with and their diversity and we strive to show leadership and take responsibility. We value partnerships as ours is the achievement of results of high quality and good value. When we do this badly, we don’t respond to what the public want from us; we rather demand than earn respect; and we feather our own nest at the expense of others.

Bamenda — The United Nations Development Fund for women (UNIFEM) and the Bamenda -based Center for Human Rights and Peace Advocacy (CHRAPA) are believers that violence against women still trives and must be combated by more collegial and strategic efforts. That was topical on March 2nd , 2007 when UNIFEM and CHRAPA launched a Trust Fund to end violence against women in Cameroon with UNIFEM’s Dede Ekoue urging CHRAPA to dedicate whole time efforts towards the success of the project. The Representative of the UN Resident Coordinator said at the event in Bamenda that violence against women cause untold misery, harms families across generations and impoverishes communities. Against this backdrop, the U.N established a Trust Fund in 1996 as a unique multi-lateral mechanism to eliminate such violence.
NGO in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
Within the framework of CHRAPA’s mandate to promote and protect human rights, and within the context of the ongoing conflict in the two Anglophone regions, the year 2022 was characterized by continuous school shut downs, ghost towns which have the paralyzed economy, burning and looting of private and public properties and indiscriminate arrest, detention, kidnappings and killings by both the Non state armed groups and the military.
